but under usual circumstances, there is at all times at least 1 server well attended (50+ players), often even more.
as I've been stung beforeĪs for how many people are usually online, that varies with the time you want to play. Not trying to be awkard just want to make sure i get what I pay for. Example Map Starlingrad - Planes from battle of Moscow onlyĪs i've seen this done before to push people to purchase more content. I need to Buy Battle of Stalingrad for $79.99 which gives me access to 10 planes and a single Map.ĭoes this mean I can only play servers that have Starlingrad maps?ĭo servers mix maps and planes. Whats the cost of the games and what do I get? Reason for his, I've taken a look at some of the later il2 titles and it seems you only get a few planesįrom what understand. I would like to know, roughly how many people play online? as steam only shows steam purchased activity and its around 135 playing I was toying with the idea of getting back into IL2, however after checking steam charts I'm having trouble working out if its worth getting the game, as I am only interested in online gameplay Logged on last week, hyperlobby still around, however 50 players online which to be fair for from early 2000 is still good. most nights during the week there used to be around 800 to 1300 players online, in games or chatting in the rooms, weekends were just as busy. I made a little dogfight server and have a "spawn area" on the map but cant select it in game.Used to play on Hyperlobby under the tag of 30MM, game of choice was IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, Enjoyed the game, with its massive selection of 400+ planes. I click "Battle" and then still cannot select the red airfield. Its really apprciated!! I All you need to to is make a series of round for the belting, say AP/Dewilde incendiary/AP, which repeats until the gun is empty. You can choose your own belting, I recommend a mix of Armourpiercing and DeWilde incendiaries and maybe a red tracer round on weapon 4-5 on the Spit/hurri. Then click the Plane button on the bottom of the screen to set up your aircraft, with skins and ammo belting. You will then have a plane setup menu on the right, which allows you to pick an airplane and how many of them you which to spawn. This enables you to click an airfield on the map belonging to your side (they show up as white circles) When you are in the dogfight screen, you just click battle (or start battle) to start the mission, then it is just to choose a side. Place an object called Spawn area (or something similar) on a airfield, which is the new name for the home base.Ĭonfigure it, with aircraft spawning as parked (or else they will spawn on the runway, which is slighly bugged with multiple players)Ĭhoose how many pilots and what planes to be available at the airfield (IMPORTANT).Īnd then just save it, and go into multiplayer (I suggest lobby), and create a server with a password on it.Ĭhoose the mission in the list (you may start looking at the singleplayer missions, but just click the two dots to go to the root folder and click the multiplayer missions. Load up any of the maps, I suggest the Channel 1940 for just flying around, the others are a bit sparse, but they run really well. What you could do is just go into the mission builder (under extras in the main menu) I'm not at my normal computer, so I cannot send you my missions I built just for that purpose. You could either try the QMB mission Crosscountry flight, or use the just put up a multiplayer server and use the dogfight maps.#IL 2 STURMOVIK CLIFFS OF DOVER MULTIPLAYER PLAYER NUMBER SERIES#
